DOSAGE UNIT TABLE
Dilutions (concentrations) of use: the quantity of commercial product diluted usually in water. As an example, 1% concentration means
that 1 liter of product has been added to 99 liters of water. Synonym: Percentage of use.
Dosage unit: the quantity of solution per unit of measure.
Example in the fight against crawling insects: if 10 liters delivered by shoulder pump are used to treat 100 square meters, the result will
be a well-moistened surface, and we will have 100 ml/sq m (which is perfect for absorbent surfaces). If the concentration is 1% (100 ml in 10
liters), the quantity of commercial product will be 1.00 ml/sq m, and if the pyrethroid product concentration is 5%, we will distribute 0.050
ml/sq m of active substance per square meter.
QUANTITY OF SOLUTION, COMMERCIAL PRODUCT, ACTIVE SUBSTANCE [5%]
In the hypothesis of treating 200 sq m with 10 liters of solution (ideal for non-absorbing or vertical surfaces)
Dilution % Solution ml/sq m Commercial product (PMC or Active substance ml/sq m
Biocide) ml/sq m
0.5 50 0.25 0.0125
1 50 0.50 0.0250
2 50 1.00 0.0500
In the hypothesis of treating 100 sq m with 10 liters of solution
(IDEAL FOR ABSORBING SURFACES)
Dilution % Solution ml/sq m Commercial product (PMC or Active substance ml/sq m
Biocide) ml/sq m
0,5 100 0.50 0.0250
1 100 1.00 0.0500
2 50 2.00 0.1000
Example in the fight against “flying” insects: if we use a sprayer with a 300 liter tank and the percentage of use of a pyrethroid extract-based
product (for example) in a 2% concentration and our equipment delivers 100 l/h moving at around 8 km/h at a dispenser height of 9 m and
a 10 m spraying arc, we will cover 720,000 cu m in one hour, which is equivalent to 0.138 ml/cu m of solution, which equals 0.00276 ml/cu m
(this is well below one part per million).
Without going into the economic details of these treatments, it is enough to note that the figures are high, and therefore any possible action
that lowers them must be taken into consideration, while bearing in mind however that the result must be as high as possible precisely due
to the peculiarity of the treatment to be adopted only after first evaluating real need.
